Where Every Animal Finds a Safe and Lasting Home
Around here, care looks a little different for every animal.
Some need special feed. Some need medication. Some need a quiet friend. And some just need a safe place to grow old surrounded by familiar faces.
Our horses aren’t always polished. Manes get tangled. Tails get muddy. Someone is usually wearing evidence of a recent adventure.
But they spend their days with friends, room to move, and the freedom to simply be horses.
We can separate residents when needed, adjust feeding plans, provide medical care, and support changing needs as animals age. But for many of our residents, movement, companionship, consistency, and a low-stress environment are some of the best things we can offer.
Around here, we believe in meeting animals where they are in life — no strings attached.
Lifelong Sanctuary
Unlike adoption-focused rescues, our residents remain here permanently.
Many arrive as seniors or with medical conditions that require ongoing support.
Once animals arrive at the sanctuary, our goal is simple:
provide a safe and familiar environment where they can live comfortably and without uncertainty.
Care includes:
Individualized feeding programs
Routine veterinary oversight
Regular farrier care
Herd companionship and safe pasture living
Responsible Intake
Sanctuary is a lifelong commitment. Because of this, intake decisions are made carefully.
We expand only when we can responsibly support additional animals with the time, space, veterinary support, and financial stability required for long-term care.
This approach helps ensure that every resident receives the attention and stability they deserve.
Compassionate End-of-Life Decisions
While sanctuary is about life and stability, part of responsible animal care includes recognizing when suffering can no longer be relieved.
In rare circumstances, and always in consultation with veterinary professionals, humane euthanasia may be chosen when it is the kindest and most compassionate option.
These decisions are never routine and are made only when an animal’s comfort, dignity, and welfare require it.
Environment & Daily Life
Whenever possible, animals live in open pasture environments that allow natural movement, social interaction, and routine.
Daily life here is intentionally calm and structured — familiar fields, dependable feeding schedules, and careful observation of each animal’s changing needs.
Veterinary Partnerships
We work closely with local veterinarians and farriers to support aging animals and those with chronic conditions.
Preventive care, regular monitoring, and thoughtful treatment plans allow many animals to live comfortably well into their senior years.
Stewardship & Transparency
Grumpy Goat Rescue Co. is committed to responsible nonprofit management and transparency.
Our annual reports and financial disclosures reflect how community support directly sustains sanctuary care from feed and veterinary services to infrastructure that keeps animals safe and comfortable.
